Educational programming at Congregation Beth Am offers opportunities for congregants to engage in a journey of learning and spiritual growth. Members of all ages are challenged to think, question and contribute creatively to our common journey.

In all our religious education, regardless of age level, we take Beth Am’s mission very seriously.  We incorporate the three pillars of Torah (learning), Avodah (worship), and Gemilut Chasadim (communal responsibility).  At the same time, we remember that our first curricular item is joy – creating a love of learning is our number one priority for our youngest to our oldest congregant.

We begin our religious education with our Tot Shabbat program which is designed to give our youngest members an introduction to Shabbat Service and in Itty BITTY groups.

Our Pre-K through 8th graders attend Religious School on Sundays where they learn the Alef-Bet, Jewish history, and traditions and prepare for their B’Nai Mitzvah

Our post B’Nai Mitzvah students attend the Academy where they continue their learning while preparing for their Confirmation.

Our Continuing Education program spans many areas of interest: Basic Hebrew, Jewish practices around the world, Music, Social Justice, life cycles, family concerns, and more.

Last but certainly not least, “The Holy One, Blessed be God, loves gerim (converts) greatly” – Midrash. Our conversion program for those interested in “joining the tribe.”
