Students at Congregation Beth Am are Confirmed at the end of 12th grade. As these young adults are beginning to transition into a new, independent phase in their life, we celebrate their commitment to our people, our religion and our God.

Our Confirmation program is based around a simple philosophy — as our students get older, they should be encouraged to find their own path through the Jewish world. Rather than focusing primarily on in-class learning, we strive to help each student find which parts of Judaism speak most powerfully to them.

Beginning in 9th grade, the program leading up to Confirmation is a program of directed exploration, in which each student works with a mentor and the rabbi to develop a plan of learning and engagement. Monthly workshops give the students a chance to come together, share their progress and support one another.
